It's very easy, see below diagram showing you how to measure the effective working length, to get the circumference, just double the EWL.

Why use round slings?

They're a staple in most industries that require slings - their low maintenance and soft outer shell which prevent damage of a load. Even though they're soft, they are still somewhat abrasive resistant, however, you should never lift a load whilst the sling is bearing the load on sharp or abrasive edges.

How to use a round sling

There are three approved, safe ways to use an endless round sling. These are vertical, choke and basket, see our load chart to understand the WLL reductions in specific orientations of lift.

What's the life span of a polyester round sling?

The shelf life of ours are typically 10 years when kept in cool, dry conditions away form sunlight.

How often do you need to inspect your round sling?

LOLER Regulations state a periodic thorough inspection of polyester slings every 6 months, however, if you're using your slings in harsh environments or abrasive conditions, it's advised you should shorten your inspection windows to suit the usage and working conditions. Furthermore, it's advised that you always perform a pre-use inspection before using any lifting equipment, this inspection consists of visual check for cuts, tears or fraying of the synthetic fibres.
